Ghosts Invited
I have been revisiting a lot of old shoots lately. It is great to revive some old ghosts. When I took these photos of Kristian Espedahl, Aka Gaahl, I didn't really knew what to do with them. They came out as they were supposed to and how I intended them but back then I felt any editing to them was cheeting. So I never used them for anything. Now many years later I took them back and all it took was a bit of finetuning and now I love them. Not much have been done other than a bit of contrast and different tone but it changed it into the mood that I never got from the originals. These were shot on my Mamiya medium format film camera. This was a speciel day for me and what I consider the beginning of a great friendship with this amazing person!

Darkness
A few more frames from the first rolls of film from my new friend, Mamiya RZ67. I metered Kinga's skin trying to get the right balance between light and dark. I don't always know what I am doing when it comes to exposure but sometimes, I guess right.

Darkness Lives
A few days after the Trap Them show I went to Odense to catch up with my friends, the Cancer Bats. They were playing their first out of two Denmark shows so I thought I might as well bring my Camera along. I'm no band/concert photographer nor have I any intension of becoming one. I have noticed increase of cameras in front of the stages at the last many shows I have been too. It puzzles me a bit. It also makes me feel guilty when I'm standing there with my camera. I'm not trying to be cool or get in on a trade that is already more than full of wannabes. I guess I take that with coming from tattooing. I hate when I see tattooers who are just in it for the coolness factor. I don't take band pictures because that's the new cool thing to do. I don't say that the people I see in front of the stages do that either, I'm just surprised how many there are these days. I like to take pictures of people. I love it actually. I thrills me. I love seeing the world through my cameras. That doesn't mean that I think that I am a professional photographer of any kind but neither do I feel the urge to be one. I am a tattooer and that's what I do for a living. This photo taking thing however has become a great passion and an addiction to me.
I don't really know where I was going with this but I guess I had to get it out.
Anyway...I chose to shoot both in RAW and JPG (BW in camera) in case I wanted to go for colour later. That turned out to be a pretty good idea since a lot of the shots actually turned out pretty cool in colour. Now I am sitting with the problem of having to convert from RAW to JPG so it might take a bit longer before the colour shots gets here. It also means that there might be a couple of the same shots in the batch but I will try to mix it up.
We had some really awesome days hanging with Bats & crew. You guys are awesome.

Darker Handcraft
I went to Hamburg to visit some friends there and catch a show with my buddies in The Kandidate. They were opening for Rotten Sound together with Haust, Gaza and Trap Them. The lighting was so bad that most of the time there were no direct light on who ever was singing so I ended up just snapping some pictures of Trap Them who I had been looking forward to see for a while.
Because of the lack of light I decided to go all black and white and crank the ISO to get that grainy film look. Funny how we try to get our fancy cameras to work like and old camera.

Grey day
After two days of spring and sun, rain and grey weather can really bring you down. Can't get myself started on anything. Well, there is always photos to be uploaded.
I need to take new pictures soon. Should have been in Japan right now where I can't turn my head without seeing something or someone I would like to take a picture of.
Gotta find my picture soon.

Pictures on a disc
While cleaning up the apartment I found this cd with some pictures from one of our trips to Japan. I am still a bit scared about how it will feel when we were actually supposed to be in Japan. Right now we feel ok and have a lot of great things looking forward to at home but there will be some serious Japan missing.
